Hey everyone!
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and if that’s true, then the shots taken by our dear friend Kuntal Mukherjee are like a whole novel. Each image tells the story of two souls wrapped up in a beautiful dance of love, laughter, and unwavering support. From stolen kisses to lazy cuddles together, Kuntal has captured some of our most cherished moments, which will be relived forever.
As Valentine’s Day is coming up, I can’t help but think about the amazing journey of love my partner Gaurav and I have had over the past five years.
But beyond the picturesque scenes and Instagram-worthy snapshots is a deeper truth – the complexity and importance of a gay relationship. Love knows no boundaries, no gender, and no limitations. Love is love, and our love is just as real, profound, and worthy of celebration as anyone else’s.
It hasn’t always been smooth sailing. Gaurav and I have faced our fair share of rumpus and challenges – the judgmental stares, the whispered remarks, and the pressure to fit into a narrow definition of love. We questioned whether our love was worth fighting for. But each time, we found solace in the warmth of our embrace, knowing that our love was worth every obstacle we faced.
There were moments of doubt, of heartache, and of wondering if we were strong enough to weather the storm. But in those moments, we clung to each other tighter, finding strength in our shared bond and determination to defy the odds stacked against us.
Our relationship isn’t just about romance; it’s about being there for each other, understanding each other, and giving unwavering support. It’s about being each other’s rock in tough times and each other’s biggest supporter in moments of triumph. It’s about embracing our imperfections and celebrating our differences, knowing that it’s our uniqueness that makes our love story truly special.
So, as we celebrate five years of love, laughter, and countless memories, I want to leave you with this thought: love is love, in all its beautiful, messy, and glorious forms. Whether you’re gay, straight, or somewhere in between, always remember that you are worthy of love and that your love story is valid, cherished, and oh-so-beautiful.
With all my love,
Ankur
