Meet “Mr. Jogendra Behra”, yes that’s how he says his name when asked. He is the life guard of the private beach for the resort I stayed on my recent vacation. He is merely 20 years old and working to support his family. His father is a farmer and doesn’t earn much to run the house. Well his brother is in senior college and completing his studies.
This a pretty common story across the globe, which even I can relate too. What make him different, is his smile. For the last 2 days, I have observed, he always carries a cute nervous smile. And it wasn’t just for me, but for all the guests. The beach where he is working is huge and he is only one there, so I can understand his nervousness as he has to take a track of all the people who are there enjoying or have decided to take a stroll at the extreme end of the beach to see the horizon. I was one amongst those.
I our brief conversation, what I really liked about this guy was his positivity. His story was told in such an incorrect way that you understand that he has accepted the reality and working towards the future. And his smile says it all.
